I don't remember exactly when or where it started. I am talking about the beginning of the path that brought me to this point. I will try to start with my being appointed to this position in the research department in a University that I never heard of. I had just graduated from Colorado State University and was not really sure what I wanted to do. I had changed my major several times and was lucky to graduate at all. I was interested in several different science projects CSU were involved in and I would sit and talk to Professor Carden late into the night about my thoughts and observation of different aspects of science.

At first I sent out my resume to several large corporations in the area. I guess I thought companies were just waiting to get graduates fresh out of collage. I took a part time job with a security guard company at a book company. I was receiving some money from my parents still and knew it had to be putting a strain on them as they had been doing this for four years already. The security guard job didn't pay much more then cleaning floors at Mc Donald's. I started sending out more and more resumes in an increasing larger radius. And to companies I didn't much have any interest in. My brother once told me that it took about one hundred resumes to get a dozen interviews, which if you were lucky would net you, one or two decent offers.

Just when I was beginning to get worried and depressed I received a call from Professor Carden. He told me of a little known research facility in a government sponsored University in Nevada that was looking for new research people. They had contacted him wanting people that he could recommend. He said the pay was good and they would even pay for the relocation.
